“Preserving The Environment in Extraction and Transportation of Natural Resources for Societal Needs”
This case study will present engineering design and construction consideration to ensure that the bauxite mining operation in Amazon Tropical Rainforest region is minimizing adverse impacts of mining and transport operations in order to meet worldwide hunger for aluminum ore.

“Modern Construction and Maintenance Technologies for Durable and Sustainable Asphalt Pavements”
This is an important topic in Europe with lots of research and changes in construction practices.

Invited Lecture 3: Professor Waheed Uddin, University of Mississippi, USA
“Geospatial Technologies for Highway Asset Management and Natural Disaster Risk Reduction Planning”
This presentation will demonstrate the use of modern spaceborne remote sensing and geospatial technologies to expedite highway asset management and planning for risk reduction from natural disasters such as floods.
